Photonic Systems, Inc. (PSI) offers comprehensive microwave photonics engineering and manufacturing capabilities. With decades of collective photonics experience, PSI brings best-in-class component and link solutions to customers in defense, communications, research and government.
Our products enable a broad range of system performance, from basic transmission of RF over fiber for antenna remoting to complex
RF interference mitigation solutions in defense and
commercial applications. Our component products include low Vπ
lithium niobate modulators, high current photodetectors
and high accuracy modulator controllers. Our integrated
link products operate to bandwidths beyond 110 GHz with the record setting spur-free dynamic range and low noise figure.
PSI also offers design and testing capabilities on a contract basis to customers in need of expertise related to electro-optic, RF/microwave and microwave photonic components or systems. Our fully equipped laboratories and expert staff are available for projects ranging from testing of fiber optic or RF cables to custom design of photonic components.

Photonic Systems, Inc. (PSI), is a privately held company headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts. We offer a comprehensive capability in microwave photonic devices and systems; from electro-optic device design through complete sub-system prototype and manufacture. Our customers include military, research, and commercial entities. Applications of our technology range widely, including signal transmission, antenna remoting and radio astronomy.
PSI’s professional staff consists of industry pioneers from acclaimed research institutions including MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and from renowned companies such as Alcatel, Axsun, Bose, Coretek, Covega, GE, and Lucent. Noteworthy accomplishments of PSI’s staff include:
- Fird to demsonstrate
single-antenna SF-STAR (a.k.a. full-duplex)
